As I got in my car to go to the nearest grocery store, I turned on Spotify to listen to my favorite Christian music. I put on a few of my favorites “Oceans – Hillside United” and “What a Beautiful Name it is, the Name of Jesus – Hillside.” I don’t know about you, but when I listen to Christian music, my thoughts, focus and heart are set on God and Jesus. My heart fills up with love for God and Jesus.
When I came to the corner intersection of the grocery store, I slowly made a right turn. As I proceeded to pick up a little speed after the turn, I saw a homeless man to my right walking on the long sidewalk. He had wavy brown hair that came up to his shoulders. His clothes were brown, worn but not torn. I noticed he walked slowly, facing down as if he was down on his luck. (That’s the sidewalk in the picture.)
As I was passing him up, I wondered if he was hungry and decided to come back around and ask him if he needed anything from the grocery store since I was heading there anyway. I figured he could let me know what he wanted and meet me at the door.
But in the few seconds that it took to pass him, I looked back in my right-side view mirror and was startled when I didn’t see him. No one was there! I looked again and nothing. As you can see in the picture, there is an empty field. Where did he go?
I drove into the grocery store parking which is on the left of the street and turned back around to go find this man. I went back and sat in the car looking all around but found nothing.
I finally gave up and went back into the grocery parking lot and parked. I sat there for a little while getting my thoughts together, feeling a little shaken up and wondering what had I just witnessed?
Was it a sign from God acknowledging my loving thoughts toward him or was it a test to see if I would help a homeless man? Or did I see an Angel in disguise. I mean people don’t just vanish into thin air!
